You rock dude! 🤘🏾Not as hard as Amanda’s Dead Mother, but you're damn cool with this 😎

I love how they even sound like a band with limited resources to record their music.

I write ony Substack about this, how the definition of an artist in our present is fluid and ever-changing, and how people who can't write fiction, or draw, or sculpt, are finding these cool intersections between tech and mythology to create interesting things.

You got me fired up to bring out of hiding this mysterious synth musician.

Let's talk!

Glad you liked it! The definition of what an artist or creator is today is definitely evolving.

You can always hit me up in my DMs, my dude.

Being from small-town Ohio, I completely relate to this song.

It's so catchy! I wouldn't know it was created with AI.

Yeah, small-town Tennessee here. All the lyrics where actually mine from around 1996-1997, with some small changes to make them not suck so much and be more modern. I used to fancy myself a lead singer.

Let's put it this way... I write pretty good lyrics. Singing, not so much.

That’s awesome. You remind me (at least from writing) a lot of my oldest brother. He taught himself to play guitar and sings a bit, but writing and lyrics are his thing. He’s also into the mystical stuff and has had some interesting experiences with it.

"Fuck you" is the right response to anyone who gets high and mighty about using AI to create not being real art. Who is anyone to define what is art and what isn't? I think the sound is cool. Honestly if it had showed up in a Spotify playlist I would never imagine for a second it wasn't a real band. Really cool result.

To be fair, I've never really cared what other people think about what I do creatively in the first place. It's mostly for my own enjoyment, but I'm happy when others find enjoyment in it, too.

A-HA! So I am not the only weirdo toying around with this. 😂🤗

I was happy with the poem and thought for a bit how would it sound read angry, then hey, how would it sound sang angry?

Then I sort of backtracked and did same with other poems. Endless fun!

So glad it inspired you to play with your own ideas, you are the first documented case of receiving permission to weird ahah.🤗🫣🙌

Interesting avenue to consider!

I remember in high school that one of my friends had a band named "Three Green Cows". You never know where you can get creative with ideas, and AI is one of the areas to explore provided that there is a baseline of material that comes from you.

I personally like to "Weird Al" around lyrics about everyday situations as a parent...they've mostly been about poop.

The way I look at AI from a creative standpoint is it allows me to be as free as I want to be with my ideas. Before, I only really had words. Now I have painting, drawing, music, and much more.

And there's lots of "Weird Al" type stuff on Suno. I listened to one about cat's using a litterbox that was amazingly catchy.

That's a great band name!

One of my favorite things is to come up with random band names. A few months ago, my younger daughter and I came up with "Bill Plumber and the Full Moons" or "Bill Plumber and the Butt Cracks."

I've only used on of the song creation tools once about a year ago -- made an Orcish war song in a cross between Japanese drums and metal. Was pretty good.

Very cool. I created a fictional rap roots gospel series here. It wasn’t able to get as low fi unproduced as I wanted but it’s kinda cool: https://suno.com/s/SpEr4XD1Ou5iziji

I thought I’d dig out for you a concept album I didn’t finish. It’s about AI merging with humans, enhanced humans, and then a war between them and the humans- it takes the side of the enhanced ones. I kind of envisioned it as an Avatar scale sci fi trilogy. Think it still has legs. https://www.udio.com/playlists/wTjJUpFWwf2AoFHPHn5bKc

I should tell you, as another gen x but a speaker who jokes about generations, what I say about us is:

"Used to be cool. Always want to tell you about some concert they went to 30 years ago."
