We've been talking about this during dinner. My husband agrees that we're going to need to move to UBI eventually when AI takes over more jobs. I don't know if there's a way around it. I don't love it, but I certainly don't want people to starve either...
But I think there will be an even bigger problem. People aren't going to have a purpose in life. That's not good.
I think some people will find another purpose, but many people find purpose in their work, and if they don't have that, they'll have a mental breakdown.
I already see tons of younger people with very little purpose posting on TikTok about how they're depressed and broke, and they just sit around their house all day playing video games.
