Acceptable Use Policy

Niche of One is a place to publish your work and sell it on your own terms. This page is the short list of what you can't do here, decided in daylight before anyone broke a rule. It applies to every member, every space, every post, and everything sold through the platform. By publishing or selling here, you agree to it.

What you can't publish or sell

• Illegal content. Anything unlawful under United States federal law or the law where you operate. No elaboration needed and none coming.
• Stolen work. Publishing someone else's writing, art, or product as your own, or paywalling material you don't hold the rights to. See the DMCA policy for takedowns.
• Scams and fraud. Selling work you don't deliver, promising what a post doesn't contain, fake reviews, or misrepresenting who you are or what you're selling.
• Sexual content involving minors, in any form, real or generated. Reported to the authorities, no warning, no appeal.
• Spam and abuse. Grinding against the posting and sending caps, buying or faking subscribers, or using a space to distribute unsolicited bulk mail. The caps (five posts a day, two sends a day, double opt-in) are the floor, not a target.
• Malware, phishing, and security abuse. Distributing malicious files, harvesting credentials, or probing the platform's security. Authorized security reports are welcome at [email protected]; unauthorized attacks are not.
• Targeted harassment and credible threats of violence. Disagreement, criticism, and hard opinions are fine. Threatening a real person or coordinating harassment is not.
• Evading fees or access controls. Working around the payment rail, the unlock, or another member's paywall.

What never closes a storefront

Weird is fine. Controversial is fine. Unpopular, niche, heretical, out of season: fine. This is the underground, and strange is the point. Nobody loses a storefront here for an opinion, a genre, a subject that makes people flinch, or a pile of one-star reviews. If the work is legal, it's yours, and it does what the paywall says it does, you stay open.

How the rules are enforced

No algorithm flags you and no automated strike counter ticks in the dark. If a storefront crosses a line, a human reads the work first. Then, in order:

• You get told which rule and why, in plain words. No form letter pointing at "our policies."
• Your storefront goes dark, but your data doesn't burn with it. You get a full export of everything: posts, subscribers, all of it.
• Whatever remains on the platform's systems is purged within 60 days. Sooner if you ask.
• Your buyers keep access to everything they bought from you. Your exit is never their loss.
