Shut The Week Down Clean

The First Hour: One Protected Block Before the World Gets In — Today’s drill is how you end the week clean. This one’s how you start the day clean. Same discipline, two ends of the clock.

The Friday Shutdown

Quit carrying the week into your weekend in your head. Put it on paper and close the door.

Fifteen minutes before you log off. This is how you stop the work from following you home and how you make Monday start itself. Here’s the drill.

1 // List what actually shipped

Write down everything you finished this week. No ‘worked on,’ no ‘made progress.’ Finished and sent. A short list of real items. This is the part that proves the week wasn’t a blur.

2 // Name what’s stuck, and why

List the things that didn’t move. Beside each one, one word for what’s blocking it: waiting, unclear, scared, lazy. Be honest, you’re the only one reading this.

3 // Set Monday’s first move

Pick the single first task for Monday and write it where you’ll see it before anything else. One task. Decided now, while you still have the context. Monday-you just executes, no thinking required while your brain is still booting.

4 // Shut it down

Close the tabs. Actually close them. The week is logged, the blockers are named, Monday’s move is set. You’re done. Go be a person for two days.

That’s the whole drill. Four lines and the week stops chasing you.

What’s your Monday-morning first move? Reply and tell me, I’ll hold you to it. ~ J.D.
